For over two decades Dr. Flanagan has been caring for people with neurodegenerative diseases. Her professional career began in Boston as a Physical Therapist for people with movement disorders and other neurological conditions. Her second career, as a physician, began in Maine where she developed a regional interdisciplinary Memory Clinic for patients with cognitive decline.
Concurrently, Dr. Flanagan also developed an interdisciplinary tele-psychiatry program for patients with neurodegenerative disease living in assisted living and long term care homes. Access to comprehensive compassionate care for all patients, regardless of their location, was the driving force behind Dr. Flanagan’s development of these programs, and the reason she chose to continue her career at Synapticure. She appreciates the team approach to each individual’s care at Synapticure, and the inclusion of loved ones in the process.
